PNA Clinical Application Guide
Hip Lateral Glide With Active Flexion — MWM Trial
The hip that won't negotiate with the squat — Step into the treatment room, follow the clinical clues, and discover what deserves the next decision.
Safety / do not apply when…
Avoid routine mobilization if fracture/stress fracture, recent dislocation, severe trauma, unstable joint or major neurological/vascular issues are suspected.
Do not compress femoral vessels/nerve with the belt or force symptomatic end-range flexion.
Refer for further evaluation when severe groin pain, night/rest pain or persistent unremitting symptoms suggest non-routine pathology.
Clinical rule
A technically correct technique is not automatically a useful technique. Keep it only when the patient's pain, range or function improves in a clinically meaningful way, then transfer that gain into active movement, loading or self-management.
