Safety / do not apply when…
Do not force cervical rotation, extension or shoulder elevation in an irritable neck.
Stop and assess if dizziness, unusual headache, visual symptoms, neurological symptoms or unexpected symptom spread occurs.
Avoid direct pressure in the supraclavicular fossa and respect recent shoulder/neck surgery.
Clinical rule
A technically correct technique is not automatically a useful technique. Keep it only when the patient's pain, range or function improves in a clinically meaningful way, then transfer that gain into active movement, loading or self-management.
